A Visual Journey through the Life of Christ

Kristine Kay Hasse Library's Watanabe collection includes nineteen images that invite the viewer on a visual journey through the life of Christ, from the annunciation of Mary by the Angel Gabriel, through the calling of the Twelve Disciples, to the Crucifixion, and finally, Pentecost and the meeting between the disciple Philip and the Ethiopian, a representation of the spread of the gospel and the promise of Pentecost.

The final image in this digital exhibit is the lone representation in Hasse's collection of Watanabe's print work in Old Testament scripture: Jacob and the angel. Fitting considering the importance of this moment in the foretelling of the life of Christ.

Please join us on this dynamic visual journey through the Life of Christ as envisioned by the artist, Sadao Watanabe.
