A Visual Journey through the Life of Christ

The angel went to her and said, "Greetings,
you are highly favored! The Lord is with you."
(Luke 1: 28)

"So Joseph also went up from the town of
Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem,
the town of David, because he belonged to
the house and line of David. He went there to
register with Mary, who was pledged to be
married to him and was expecting a child.
While they were there, the time came for the
baby to be born, and she gave birth to her
firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths
and placed him in a manger, because there
was no room for them in the inn." (Luke 2: 4-
7).

"Today in the town of David a Savior has been
born to you; he is Christ the Lord"…So they
hurried off and found Mary and Joseph and
the baby, who was lying in the manger. When
they had seen him, they spread the word
concerning what had been told them about
this child, and all who herd is were amazed at
what the shepherds said to them. (Luke 2: 11
& 16-18)

After they (the Magi) had heard the king, they
went on their way and the star they had seen
in the east went ahead of them until it
stopped over the place where the child was.
When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.
On coming to the house, they saw the child
with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down
and worshipped him. Then they opened their
treasures and presented him with gifts of gold
and of incense and of myrrh... (Matthew 2:9-12)

And having been warned in a dream not to go
back to Herod, they returned to their country
by another route. (Matthew 2:9-12)

When they had gone, an angel of the Lord
appeared to Joseph in a dream. "Get up," he
said, "take the child and his mother and
escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for
Herod is going to search for the child to kill
him." So he got up, took the child and his
mother during the night and left for Egypt,
where he stayed until the death of Herod.
(Matthew 2: 13-15a)

As Jesus was walking beside the sea of Galilee,
he saw two brothers, Simon, called Peter, and
his brother Andrew. They were casting a net
into the lake, for they were fishermen. "Come,
follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you
fishers of men." At once they left their nets
and followed him. (Matthew 4:18-20)

He called his twelve disciples to him and gave
them authority to drive out evil spirits and to
heal every disease and sickness. These are the
names of the twelve apostles; first, Simon
(who is called Peter) and his brother Andrew;
James, son of Zebedee, and his brother, John;
Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and
Matthew, the tax collator; James, son of
Alpheus, and Thaddeus; Simon the Zealot and
Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him. (Matthew
10: 1-4

Then he (Jesus) turned toward the woman
and said to Simon, " Do you see this woman? I
came into your house. You did not give me
any water for my feet, but she wet my feet
with her tears and wiped them with her hair.
You did not give me a kiss, but this woman,
from the time I entered, has not stopped
kissing my feet. You did not put oil on my
head, but she has poured perfume on my feet.
Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been
forgiven - for she loved much. But he who has
been forgiven little, loves little." (Luke 7:36-
47)

As they sailed, he (Jesus) fell asleep. A squall
came down on the lake, so that the boat was
being swamped, and they were in great
danger. The disciples went and woke him,
saying, "Master, Master, we're going to
drown!" He got up and rebuked the wind and
the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all
was calm. "Where is your faith?" he asked his
disciples. (Luke 8:23-25).

"There was a rich man who was dressed in
purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every
day. At his gate was laid a beggar named
Lazarus, covered with sores and longing to eat
what fell from the rich man's table. Even the
dogs came and licked his sores." (Luke 16:19-
21)

(And Jesus said) "What do you think? If a man
owns a hundred sheep, and one of them
wanders away, will he not leave the ninetynine on the hills and go to look for the one
that wandered off? And if he finds it, I tell you
the truth, he is happier about that one sheep
than about the ninety-nine that did not
wander off." (Matthew 18: 12-13)

(And Jesus said) "What do you think? If a man
owns a hundred sheep, and one of them
wanders away, will he not leave the ninetynine on the hills and go to look for the one
that wandered off? And if he finds it, I tell you
the truth, he is happier about that one sheep
than about the ninety-nine that did not
wander off." (Matthew 18: 12-13)

Jesus knew that the Father had put all things
under his power, and that he had come from
God and was returning to God; so he got up
from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and
wrapped a towel around his waist. After that,
he poured water into a basin and began to
wash his disciples' feet, drying them with the
towel that was wrapped around him... (Then
Jesus said) "I have set you an example that
you should do as I have done for you. I tell you
the truth, no servant is greater than master,
nor is a messenger greater than the one who
sent him. Now that you know these things,
you will be blessed if you do them." (John 13:
3-17)

When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles
reclined at the table. And he said to them, "I
have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with
you before I suffer. For I tell you, I will not eat
it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom
of God." (Luke 22: 14-16) Japanese rendition
of the Last Supper. The red fish is considered
the appropriate dish for special meals

Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his
mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and
Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother
there, and the disciple whom he loved
standing nearby, he said to his mother, "Dear
woman, here is your son," and to the disciple,
"Here is your mother." (John 19:25-27a)

Jesus and the Two disciples on the road to Emmaus have supper after his death

"Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent
wind came from heaven and filled the whole
house where they were sitting. They saw what
seemed to be tongues of fire that separated
and came to rest on each of them. All of them
were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to
speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled
them." (Acts 2:2-4)

Then Phillip ran up to the chariot and heard
the man reading Isaiah the prophet. "Do you
understand what you are reading?" Phillip
asked. "How can I," he said, "unless someone
explains it to me?" So he invited Phillip to
come and sit with him… Then Phillip began
with that very passage of Scripture and told
him the good news about Jesus. (Acts 8: 30,
31, 35)

Jesus and Mary, it looks as if this is the scene from when Mary wraps his body after the crucifixion.
