Johannes Brenz (1499 - 1570) was a German Lutheran theologian and Protestant reformer. He was the principal leader of the Reformation in Württemberg. Brenz was born in Weil, Württemberg, Germany and studied at Heidelberg from 1514 to 1522. He was a preacher at the church of St Michael in Schwäbisch Hall from 1522 to 1546. Brenz was an advisor to Duke Ulrich von Württemberg and provided the impetus for the introduction of the Reformation in Württemberg. He was also responsible for establishing monastery schools, such as the one in Bebenhausen. Brenz was a close friend of Martin Luther.

This exhibit is the public output of Andrew Bloch, a PhD student's translation and lesson preparation for a translating reading group.
